The Summer Season Approaches

As usual, the summer season will kick off on the first Saturday in October with a social round robin. This, of course, assumes that the park has re-opened.

Barry Sullivan, our president, is in constant contact with the RCOW and the latest advice is that the dates of all planned work will be known sometime this coming week, and we are still hopeful of access in early October.

Opportunity to play at Yarrawonga

Between now and the re-opening of Merriwa Park, you may wish to start some pre-season training. There have been fruitful discussions between Barry and Yarrawonga LTC President, Daryl Bennett, to allow WLTC players to use the Yarrawonga courts for a fee of $20 per court with unlimited time.

Because their courts are locked, and nets need to be erected, this will need to be co-ordinated, and the first port of call is with Barry Sullivan (0419 373 988). John Brunner will also have some involvement in making this arrangement work.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM is planned for Saturday October 14. As was the case last year the meeting will take place at the courts from 12:45pm, just prior to the 1:30pm start of play. Agenda and other details will be circulated in the coming weeks.

Membership Renewal

The annual fees are set at the AGM, however the current committee will be recommending that the fees remain the same for the coming season.

Membership fees may be paid from any time forward. If your details haven't changed then you don't need to fill out a form (but you still can if you wish). The online form is available and has been modified to take account of tennis, croquet, and pickleball players.

If you make a bank transfer payment, then make sure your name is recorded with the transaction.

The club bank details can be found on the membership page of the website and repeated here:

Congratulations

Congratulations to Beth Cope who was named the Star Player in the Albury Wodonga Football Association ladies division one soccer competition. This is equivalent to Aussie Rules "best and fairest" in the league. As a three time winner of the WLTC ladies aggregate, Beth is showing that she has versatility across many sports.
