The Summer Tennis Season Approaches

As usual, the summer tennis season will kick off on the first Saturday in October (Oct 5th) with open day events for junior and senior players. See below for details.

The AGM is planned for Saturday October 12. The meeting will take place at the courts from 12:45pm, just prior to the 1:30pm start of play. Agenda and other details will be circulated by email in the coming weeks.

The junior committee will be on hand at 9am, Oct 5, for a meet and greet, registration and some light hearted on-court practice.
The junior aggregate competition program will get under way the following Saturday, Oct 12th. Play starts at 8:30am, however you must be at the courts by 8:15 to register your name for the day's play.

As you may have heard, current club coach Doug Smith (All Stars Tennis) has relocated to warmer temperatures and therefore will cease coaching with WLTCP at the end of Term 3.
We are currently in the process of recruiting for a new Head Coach and are very confident of securing a new full-time person to fill the role. We will confirm the details as soon as practical.
In the meantime the Club will be hosting Hot Shots coaching on a Saturday morning in Term 4. You will see a lot of familiar coaches from last year running these sessions.
If you are interested in signing up for Term 4 please send a message to Michelle Flynn on 0412 326 611 to secure your spot. Places will be limited.

Saturday Afternoon Tennis

Saturday afternoon is when our adult players take to the courts. October 5th is the open day and will be a social round robin to dust off the winter cobwebs. Play will start at 1:30 pm, however, please register by 12:30.
October 12 will be the start of the aggregate competition with the same start time and registration deadline.
A quick reminder: You must register each Saturday. If you can't play on any given Saturday, then don't register that day. New players will need to be graded in advance.
Registration can be made on the Aggregate page of the website. Or you can call the clubhouse phone (03 5721 2438) and leave your name.

Twilight team's competition will again be conducted on Monday (B grade) and Tuesday (A grade) evenings. The start dates are 14th and 15th of October.

B grade is still looking for teams and players to fill-in.
A grade has all teams registered, but still needs fill-ins.

Following the club's name change to Wangaratta Lawn Tennis Croquet and Pickleball Club (WLTCP) at the last AGM, the committee has endorsed a re-designed logo which maintains the use of our traditional colours.
