NE Vets Tennis at Wangaratta Sunday 12th April

The vets round-robin day on Sunday at the Wangaratta lawn courts is open to all players over 30 years of age. It caters for all standards as it is a graded event.
It will be a fun day with prizes and lunch provided and the weather looks like giving up a perfect sunny day. Your support for this event will be much appreciated. The start time is 10am and the cost for the day is only $35.

The 2025/26 Summer Aggregate competition concluded on Saturday 28th March with the presentations and a BBQ at the end of play.
Of the 22 scheduled rounds only one round was cancelled due to excessive heat when the temperature reached 42 deg. A total of 95 different players participated throughout the season.
Player's best 18 scores were counted towards their final tally. There are awards for the top five players overall, and one for the lady player with highest aggregate score.
Results are as follows: Male winner: Ryan Patterson with 375 games Ladies winner: Sue Piper with 278 games
2nd place overall: Mark Gorman, 355 games 3rd place: Ash Weston, 348 games 4th place: Andrew Cope: 347 games 5th place: Thomas McDonald: 337 games

Start times change once the summer season has finished. Note the following start times:
Saturday Tennis: 1pm start. Register by 12:30pm (by phone or in person).
Thursday Tennis: 1pm start. Register by phone or in person. ph: 03 5721 2438
Croquet: 10am Wednesday and Sunday. New players are most welcome to come and try/participate. The start time may change when the colder weather hits.

Each year there is a call for nominations for life membership. Nominations are reviewed by a panel and those deemed meritorious will be put to the WLTC full committee and voted – a 2/3 majority will formalize the nomination(s). These Nominations will then be put to the AGM in October for ratification.
In supporting your nominee, please consider the following Life Membership Criteria
Life membership is an honour bestowed on individual Club members whose exceptional, loyal and outstanding service and contribution has provided measurable benefit to the WLTC over an extended period of time. Nominator and seconder to be current WLTC adult Members. Nominee to have had a long period of membership. Nominee to have served in vital roles for 10 years. Roles considered: • Committee membership • Office bearer roles. • Significant leadership, support or co-ordination roles in an area(s) of club activity.
Nomination to be in writing (or email) , signed or endorsed by the Proposer and the Seconder. Nominations should be forwarded to the secretary by the end of July.
