Tournament Conditions & Guidelines

  1. Victorian Government COVID-19 guidelines shall apply.
  2. The tournament will be conducted under the rules of tennis and the code of conduct approved by Tennis Australia. The committee shall have the entire management of the Tournament and make alterations it considers necessary.
  3. Entry fees must be paid at the time of entry. Refunds might not be given for withdrawals after draws have been completed.
  4. A timetable will be available on our web site by mid-morning on the day prior to the start.  The players in the first match of a round-robin group must be available 10 minutes prior to start time . All other players in the group must then be ready to play immediately the previous match is finished  until all matches for the group are completed.
  5. Sensible tennis attire must be worn including suitable tennis shoes for grass courts.
  6. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to re-grade a player at any time, or to vary the length of matches to fit the schedule, or to cancel or make alterations where events have insufficient entries.
  7. Previous year's winners are expected to enter a higher grade.
  8. Open Singles (Elimination): to be the best of 3 sets (match tie-break prior to semi-finals). Standard would be approximately equivalent to Melbourne pennant 3 and above. There will be a cap on entries. Some wild-card places may be reserved.
    Junior 10 & Under (Round-Robin): 4 game sets (tie-break at 3 all).
    All other events
     (Round-Robin): 6 game sets (tie-break at 5 all).
    We plan to have 4 players to a round-robin group (3 sets each), however some groups will end up with either 3 or 5 players (2 sets or 4 sets each). The winners of groups in each grade will play off in an elimination event. These playoffs will be played into the evening on the first two days.
