Information for visitors

Welcome to Wangaratta Lawn Tennis Club.

The club is managed on a volunteer basis and hence there are no pereonnel in attendance at the clubrooms. Entry to the complex is via a locked gate (see below under court hire for entry details). Casual players who might require racquets and balls should make inquiries in advance.

Opportunities for playing on our courts are outlined below.

Court Hire

Courts are available for hire through our online booking system; click the link on the home page for details. The club complex is accessed via a locked gate. Booking a court will provide you with a number code to unlock the gate (you must register your name/email address prior to using the book-a-court system). When events are in progress, the gate may already be unlocked.

Social Groups

A number of social groups play during the week.
In most cases these groups welcome new players to join in.
These groups include:
Tuesday morning ladies (generally by invitation)
Wednesday mixed group (9:30am in summer, 1pm in winter)
Thursday ladies group (9:30am in summer, 1pm in winter)
Thursday round-robin play (9:30am in summer, 1pm in winter)

Turn up at these times and request to play.

Club Competitions

Competition tennis is generally for club members.

Junior tennis is conducted on Saturday mornings

Twilight teams: Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6pm

Saturday Aggregate: Grading based round-robin sections

NERTA Team: A grade team in a North East region comp

Albury Comp: A grade team in the Albury district comp

Tournaments

The club conducts its annual tournament
on the Australia Day weekend in January each year.

A number of veterans days are held at the club
as part of the North East Veterans Tennis Group calendar.

Senior club championships are conducted in February/March
